Bringing you a holistic service - Coach Tess's story:
The name of my business 'Bazu' is named in honour of my father, Bazil. Bazu was his nickname. My Dad left me with the lesson that the greatest gift you can give to your fellow human being, is to genuinely show you care. Through coaching, I hope to honour that legacy.
In 2018, I graduated with a Master of Philosophy in Management Coaching Degree through Stellenbosch University. This was the ultimate highlight of my life as due to financial contraints, my parents were never able to send me to University. I undertook the educational journey the hard way, and all part time, but all the sweeter having had to make it happen for myself. But it is not all about the piece of paper.
Experience which gives you the exposure and learnings necessary for working with people, supported by a genuine love and interest in people, is what I believe equips one to be a Coach. I am fortunate to have come from an HR background and have worked in this capacity in both the Corporate and Entreprenurial environments.
The foundations of my career were in the Executive and Graduate Recruitment industry in 1990's, where I gained experience across a diverse spectrum of industries and sectors. Ultimately, I moved up the corporate ladder into the broader field of Human Resources and General Management, holding positions such as Regional HR Manager for "Big 4" Professional Auditing Firms, the Marketing Profession as Regional Manager of the Marketing Federation of SA in KZN and then running my own business including HR Consulting Services, Training and Facilitation and Coaching. My journey has had me working with students, leaders in Partnership, Directorship, Executive and Managerial roles as well as Entrepreneurs,
With change being a constant, I am committed to coaching people through business and life changes working with those going through transition as a result of company mergers, promotions, career changes or the retirement transition.
People development is my business and I work alongside individuals to build personal and practical leadership capabilities critical to success both in life and the business world. I consider being a Coach a responsibility but also a real priviledge.
